AUS-A vs IND-A [WATCH]: Mukesh Kumar repairs the pitch while Manav Suthar enjoys a ride with the groundsmen

On an eventful Day 3 of the unofficial Test match between India A and Australia A at the picturesque Mackay ground, a unique blend of diligence and humor unfolded. Indian pace bowler Mukesh Kumar showcased his commitment to his team’s performance in a most unexpected manner. After the 45th over of Australia A’s second innings, which was bowled by all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy, Mukesh took it upon himself to address a pressing issue on the pitch—hammering the landing area with a tool typically wielded by the groundsmen.

Taking Initiative: Mukesh Kumar’s commitment to team performance

With the pitch conditions crucial for the bowlers’ effectiveness, Mukesh displayed remarkable initiative and a hands-on attitude that is often rare in the high-pressure environment of competitive cricket. By choosing to fix the bowling crease area himself, he not only demonstrated his dedication to the craft but also exemplified the camaraderie that thrives within the Indian squad. His selfless act was met with encouragement from teammates, showcasing a strong team ethos focused on collaboration and mutual support.

Manav Suthar’s comedic adventure on the groundman’s vehicle

Adding to the day’s lightheartedness was Manav Suthar, who seized the moment for a bit of fun. As the pitch curator was concluding the repairs, he playfully hopped onto the groundman’s vehicle, requesting a ride to his fielding position. Clad in his jersey number 5, Manav embodied the spirit of youthful exuberance as he settled into the vehicle, fully embracing the playful atmosphere created by Mukesh’s antics.

As the vehicle cruised towards the field, the unexpected happened: a sudden gust of wind swept Manav’s cap right off his head! In a comical twist of fate, the cap took flight, soaring away into the breeze before Manav could react. The groundsmen, quick on his feet, brought the vehicle to a halt, allowing Manav to jump out and chase down his cap. With his cap retrieved, Manav returned to his fielding position, a broad smile plastered across his face.
