Cricket Australia has revealed their 15-man preliminary squad for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, starting February 19 in Pakistan. Let’s look at the Australia Squad for ICC Champions Trophy 2025.
Pat Cummins, who led Australia to record sixth ODI World Cup title in 2023, is set to lead the Australian team in the multi-team event. There was some doubt over his participation due to injury concerns, but he made it, making the squad stronger and one of the favourites to lift the title given his track record. Â
Cummins, who is currently on a family vacation, has led Australia to win WTC 2023, ODI World Cup 2023, and under his captaincy the Australian side recently defeated India in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 after ten long years.Â
Apart from him, star pacer Josh Hazlewood, who faced injury concerns during BGT, and he missed three of the five tests, has also been included in the squad. Â
Australia’s batting line-up looks as strong as ever with the presence of Travis Head, Mitchell Marsh, Steve Smith, Marnus Labuschagne. Alex Carey and Josh Inglis were the two-wicketkeeper batters selected in the squad. Â
There are plenty of all-rounders added, however, Glenn Maxwell and Marcus Stoinis will likely to start as their preferred all-rounders, while Aaron Hardie also found a place. All-rounder Mathew Short, who also opens the innings, has been handling the job for the Aussies since ace batsman David Warner’s retirement in November 2023. Â
The trio of Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazlewood, and Pat Cummins are there as their main pacers, while quick Nathan Ellis has also been included. Adam Zampa will handle the spin department for the side. Let’s look at their Australia’s complete squad. Â
