Babar and Shaheen Afridi to be rested from Pakistan Team for 2nd Test V England

Former Pakistan Test captain Babar Azam and Shaheen Shah Afridi are most likely going to be rested from the squad for the upcoming 2nd Test against England, set to begin from October 15 in Multan.

Even after scoring a decent score of 500+ runs, Pakistan has already seen a loss in the first Test against England. Babar Azam only scored 35 runs in 2 innings, while on the other hand, Shaheen Afridi took only one wicket.

According to Pakistan’s Ary News, the team announcement will be made after consultation with the PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi. The selection committee has already done their discussion with the captain and the head coach.

Shan Masood has failed to lead the team to a victory in a Test match, there are chances of him being taken down from the captaincy spot.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has restructured the selection committee. The new committee will strategize for the upcoming Test matches and deliberate on team leadership changes,” said the report.

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) will announce their team for the 2nd Test against England on October 13. The board is likely to add two new spinners in the team.
