According to Sean Ross Sapp in the latest edition of Fightful Select Answers, a fan inquired about the possibility of Danhausen participating in the 2026 WWE Royal Rumble PLE. Unfortunately, this will not be possible because AEW has recently extended Danhausen’s contract. His original AEW contract was set to expire on July 1, but additional months have been added, and it will now expire in February 2026.
The report indicates that AEW extended Danhausen’s contract due to an injury; however, there are “absolutely no plans to use him,” and the pro wrestler has expressed a desire to be released by AEW. It remains unclear if Danhausen will return to AEW TV before his current contract expires, but updates will be provided as they become available.
Danhausen has not appeared in AEW or ROH since Final Battle 2024, where he put a curse on Mason Madden. This marked his first appearance on AEW/ROH TV in several months. However, he has remained active on the independent circuit, recently participating in events such as the CAP 8th Annual Major Pod Holiday Toy Drive, WrestlePro’s Very Nice Very Evil, and GCW/GMW’s Green Mountains And Me.
