Backstage News On Kenny Omega And The Young Bucks’ AEW Contract Status

In August 2023, top AEW stars The Young Bucks (Matt Jackson and Nick Jackson) confirmed that they signed new long-term contracts with the company, securing the highest guaranteed earnings for any tag team in wrestling history. They likened their deal to an “NBA-level” contract.

According to Sean Ross Sapp in the latest edition of Fightful Select Answers, Kenny Omega signed a four-year contract extension with AEW during the summer of 2023, with the possibility of adding additional injury time to his contract under certain clauses. Sapp also mentioned that The Young Bucks are under contract “at least through 2027,” though it remains unclear if they still hold their Executive Vice President (EVP) positions.

When asked about the possibility of The Young Bucks or Omega joining WWE, Sapp expressed doubt that Omega would ever make the leap to WWE, unless he were to take on a part-time role or participate in a one-off event. Sapp noted that Omega is aware that his match ability has limitations at this point. In contrast, he believes there is a significantly higher chance that The Young Bucks could potentially sign with WWE in the future compared to Omega.
