The Bangladesh senior cricket team is set to come to Pakistan on August 13. This comes after some problems at home caused issues with their practice for the two-match Test series. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) shared this news on Saturday. The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has agreed to the PCB’s invitation. Bangladesh will play against Pakistan in two Test matches as part of the ICC World Test Championship. The first Test will happen in Rawalpindi from August 21 to 25, and the second match will be in Karachi from August 30 to September 3.
PCB Chief Operating Officer Salman Naseer said they are very happy that the BCB accepted their invitation.
“Sports isn’t just about winning or losing; it’s also about friendship. I’m sure that the extra practice sessions in Lahore will help the Bangladesh players show off their abilities and talent on the worldwide stage,” Naseer mentioned.
The head of the Bangladesh Cricket Board, Nizam Uddin Chowdhury, expressed gratitude to the Pakistan Cricket Board for allowing the Bangladesh cricket team to have extra training in Pakistan.
“This will definitely help the players get used to the conditions and get ready better for the ICC World Test Championship series,” he stated.
Bangladesh will practice at the Gaddafi Stadium from August 14 to 16, and then they will go to Rawalpindi on August 17 to start more practice sessions on August 18.
This is Bangladesh’s first visit to Pakistan since 2020, when they played three short cricket games in Lahore and one longer game in Rawalpindi.
