Indianapolis, IN – As one of the most dominant programs in Division II over the past decade, Barry University women’s tennis continued their reign in Indianapolis this past weekend beating West Florida in the championship match to claim their fifth consecutive ITA Division II Women’s National Team Indoor championship.
With a mix of new faces and old, Barry only dropped one point the entire weekend, winning 4-0 over hosts UIndy in the quarterfinals, 4-1 over West Alabama in the semifinals, and 4-0 over West Florida in the final.
In Sunday’s final, Barry started things strong by winning the doubles point in dominant fashion on courts No. 1 and No. 3 over the Argonauts. Then in singles, the Bucs relied on wins on courts No. 3, No. 5, and No. 6 to push them across the line in the match.
