BCCI makes changes to India’s scheduled matches against Bangladesh and England

IND vs BAN: India has recently made a change that seems significant for the upcoming series to be held in India. Bangladesh’s first T20I match, which was scheduled to be held in Dharamshala, is now to be held in Gwalior’s newly built Madhavrao Scindia Cricket Stadium.

Also, the BCCI has changed India’s T20I scheduled against England, as two of India’s greatest grounds, the Eden Gardens in Kolkata and the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, have swapped the venues for the first and second T20I to be played against England.

The BCCI reports have suggested that the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association is about to make renovations in the dressing rooms of the Dharamshala cricket stadium, as a result of which they had to relocate the Opening T20I game against Bangladesh to Gwalior.

The Stadium will hold its first-ever international match as international cricket returns to the city of Gwalior after a span of 14 years, for the first time since Sachin Tendulkar’s iconic double century in white-ball cricket, the first by any player in the history of the format.

After the Bangladesh series, India will also host New Zealand for a home test series, while they will next travel to Australia for a much-awaited Border-Gavaskar Trophy, which is much anticipated by several greats of the game.

Following their Australia tour, the Men in Blue will be back in India as they host the English side for the last series of the limited-overs format before the Champions Trophy. The Kolkata Police requested the Cricket Association of Bengal to reschedule the T20 match, which was earlier to be held on the 25th.

The two games, the first T20I on the 22nd of January, which was earlier to be held in Chennai, will now be held in Kolkata on the same day, while Chennai will host the 2nd T20I game of the England tour, which was to be held in Kolkata earlier.
