FightBook MMA correspondent Gabriel Padilla recently caught up with rising bare-knuckle fighter Bekhzod Usmonov to discuss the next chapter of his combat sports career. The Tajikistan-born striker is preparing for a new run with BKB Bare Knuckle Boxing after signing a new four-fight deal with the organization.
Usmonov is expected to make his promotional debut at BKB 52, where he is scheduled to face Luis Guerrero inside the promotion’s signature triangular ring known as the Trigon. The bout marks a significant opportunity for Usmonov to showcase his explosive power and aggressive fighting style on a new stage.
A New Chapter in the Trigon
During the interview with Padilla, Usmonov spoke about the excitement surrounding his new deal with BKB and the opportunity to compete in the Trigon—an environment known for producing fast-paced, action-heavy fights due to its unique triangular shape.
For Usmonov, the move represents a fresh challenge and another platform to prove himself among the sport’s toughest fighters. Known for his speed, striking power, and fearless approach, Usmonov believes the bare-knuckle format fits perfectly with his aggressive fighting style.
BKB has quickly become one of the fastest-growing promotions in combat sports, drawing fighters from boxing, MMA, and bare-knuckle backgrounds to compete in its distinctive arena. The upcoming BKB 52 event is expected to feature several high-profile matchups, and Usmonov vs. Guerrero could be one of the card’s most explosive contests.
From MMA to Bare Knuckle
Before transitioning fully into bare-knuckle competition, Usmonov built a reputation in mixed martial arts. He holds an MMA record of 11 wins and 5 losses, competing in several organizations while training with the renowned Jackson Wink MMA Academy in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
In bare-knuckle competition, Usmonov has already proven he carries serious knockout power. In February 2025, he made headlines with a stunning first-round knockout of former bantamweight champion Keith Richardson in just 55 seconds during a BKFC event in Albuquerque.
The victory solidified his reputation as one of the most dangerous strikers in the division.
Overcoming a Life-Changing Car Crash
Usmonov’s return to competition is even more remarkable considering the challenges he and his family recently faced.
In late 2025, Usmonov, his wife Victoria, and their one-year-old son Maximus were involved in a devastating car accident while traveling during the Christmas holidays. All three suffered injuries in the crash, with his wife and son requiring immediate medical treatment and surgeries.
His son underwent surgery for a severely fractured arm and facial injuries, while his wife faced multiple surgeries due to a fractured back and serious leg injuries.
Despite sustaining injuries himself, Usmonov focused on caring for his family during their recovery. The accident forced him to step away from training and competition for a period while the family worked through the long recovery process.
The ordeal brought support from the combat sports community, including teammates and coaches from Jackson Wink MMA, who praised Usmonov’s character and resilience.
Focused on the Future
Now healthy and motivated, Usmonov is ready to return to the fight game and begin his new journey with BKB.
His matchup against Luis Guerrero at BKB 52 could be a major step toward establishing himself as a contender in the promotion’s ranks. Fans familiar with his aggressive striking and knockout power expect fireworks when he enters the Trigon.
For Usmonov, the fight is more than just another bout—it represents perseverance, resilience, and a chance to continue building his legacy in combat sports.
With a new contract, a fresh opportunity, and renewed motivation following the challenges of the past year, Bekhzod Usmonov is determined to make the most of his new chapter in bare-knuckle boxing.
