Ben Stokes Struggles with Pakistani Reporter’s Broken English Before 3rd Test

England captain Ben Stokes found himself in a confusing situation during a press conference on Wednesday. As he prepared for the upcoming third Test against Pakistan in Rawalpindi, he struggled to understand a question posed by a Pakistani reporter. The reporter attempted to ask if England would aim to score 800 runs again, similar to their record-breaking performance in the opening Test.

A video of this interaction quickly circulated on social media, showcasing Stokes’ confusion as he asked the reporter to repeat the question.

Record-Breaking Performance in Multan

In the first Test held in Multan, England set multiple records by declaring their innings at an astonishing 823/7. Harry Brook led the charge with an impressive 317 runs, while Joe Root contributed significantly with 262 runs. This total ranks as the fourth-highest in Test cricket history. England ultimately won that match by an innings and 47 runs.

Despite the humorous moment with the reporter, Ben Stokes remains focused on his role as captain and all-rounder. He expressed confidence in his fitness levels ahead of the Rawalpindi Test. “It was good to get through it,” Stokes remarked about his training sessions. “I have put myself through my paces at training and bowled two spells.”

Series Tied at 1-1

With only two seamers available for this match, Stokes is determined to deliver a strong performance. He noted that the pitch conditions appear favorable for batting during the first two days of play.

“There’s not too much grass to hold everything together,” he explained. “It will be interesting to see how it goes. It will be a pretty good wicket for the first couple of days, at least.”

England won the opening Test convincingly, but Pakistan fought back to level the series in the second match. The stakes are high as both teams aim for victory in this crucial third Test.
