Dinesh Karthik has said sorry to the fans who were upset because he didn’t include MS Dhoni in his best-ever Indian cricket team. Last week, Karthik shared the names of the players in his dream Indian team, and the surprising part was that Dhoni was not on the list. This decision shocked many fans.
Karthik used his latest show to explain why he left Dhoni out. He said it was a simple mistake on his part and that he forgot to add a wicketkeeper to the team. Many people thought he had picked Rahul Dravid as the wicketkeeper instead.
“Bhai log bada galti ho gaya” (I made a big mistake.) Honestly, it was an error on my part. I only noticed it after the episode was aired. So many things were going on that when I selected this 11, I overlooked the wicketkeeper. Fortunately, Rahul Dravid was there, and everyone assumed I was choosing a part-time wicketkeeper. But honestly, I didn’t consider Rahul Dravid as a wicketkeeper. Can you imagine, as someone who should know, I forgot to include a wicketkeeper? It’s a huge mistake,” Karthik explained.
Karthik continued by saying that Dhoni is a sure choice for any cricket format and praised him as one of the best cricketers ever. Karthik mentioned that if he could rebuild the team, he would place Dhoni at number 7 and make him the captain.
“Let’s be clear, for me, Dhoni is a sure pick in any format, not just in India. I believe he is one of the greatest cricketers to ever play the game. If I had to rebuild that team, one change I would make is to have Dhoni at number 7. And he would be the captain of any Indian team,” Karthik explained.
