Chairman of the Barbados Hotel and Tourism Association (BHTA) Javon Griffith yesterday shared a ten-point plan of action which he suggested could bring significant improvements and increase marketability in the small hotel sector.
Speaking on the topic Running A Successful Small Hotel In These Times at the 24th annual general meeting of the Intimate Hotels of Barbados (IHB) at the Island Inn Hotel, Griffith said the small hotels needed to offer “many of the amenities and services that guests can find at larger hotels, while delivering a unique experience to all guests”.
He warned that the old approach to the operation of small properties must give way to new concepts and new systems in the future.
A hotelier, Griffith, who overseas the management of small properties with a high incidence of repeat guests, observed that in 2025 people would be “more inclined towards hotel brands that have a much better connection with their audience”. (GC)
