Bill Goldberg Says His Son Gage Works Harder Than Anyone He’s Ever Seen

Bill Goldberg is known for his intensity inside the ring, but these days he’s turning that praise toward someone much closer to home — his son Gage.

While speaking on the Duke Loves Rasslin podcast, the WWE Hall of Famer talked about how proud he is of his son’s growth, both as an athlete and a student. Goldberg reflected on how far Gage has come since fans first saw him as a kid during Goldberg’s WWE comeback years ago.

He joked about how his son used to feel embarrassed by older photos, but quickly made it clear that Gage has transformed into a dedicated athlete who puts in serious work every day.

“Yeah. Well, you know, if you revert back to the 2016 appearance, he absolutely hates me when I post stuff like that cuz he was chubby. Um, but man, now, dude, that kid did 225 26 times on the bench press and that, you know, he’s a sophomore in college and it’s just amazing how dedicated this kid is. He is my son. There’s no doubt about it. My wife’s a strong woman. Uh the fact is we’re extremely physical people uh inherently and so he through osmosis he doesn’t have a choice you know but to be probably cast into a life of pain in one way or another. So he’s very resilient and he’s got a work ethic that is second to none.”

Goldberg didn’t stop there. He made it clear that what impresses him most isn’t just strength or football — it’s how hard his son pushes himself every single day.

“And I can tell you that I’ve never met a human being that works harder than this kid and gets out of his uh comfort zone and you know just tries to do everything that he can to be a better football player. And let’s just talk about his grades. He got an award yesterday for getting a 4.0 last semester. So, uh, he’s a wonderful kid and I’m just lucky to be his father.”

Goldberg has talked many times about how much family means to him, and this moment was another reminder that his biggest pride today isn’t about wrestling — it’s about watching his son succeed through hard work and discipline.

Seeing Gage grow from a kid standing in the ring next to his father into a driven college athlete clearly means a lot to Goldberg, and it’s easy to see why he speaks about him with so much respect.

What do you think about Goldberg praising his son’s work ethic like this? Do you enjoy hearing stories about wrestlers’ families and what they’re doing outside the ring? Let us know your thoughts and leave your feedback.
