Birmingham bound: Scottish cohort get ready for Novuna UK Champs

Thursday 12th February 2026

Event details

The Novuna UK Champs in Birmingham is the main focus for track and field attention this weekend.

Strong fields are entered for two days of indoor action on Saturday and Sunday at the Utilita Arena.

Scottish athletes will bid for selection for the World Indoors in Poland. British Championship medals, final places and Personal Bests when the action starts in Birmingham.

There will be coverage over the weekend on the BBC Sport website and iPlayer to catch up.

A sizeable Scottish cohort is due to head south and indeed travel to Birmingham from other parts of the UK.

There are too many names to mention every single one but we do wish each and every athlete and coach all the best for the weekend.

Alyson Bell won the Women’s 200m title at this event in 2025 while Josh Kerr races the 3000m with an eye on the World Indoors. Josh won the Men’s 5000m at the outdoor UK Champs last August. Jemma Reekie is in the 1500m this weekend.

Hopes will be high in the jumps with Scots having opened the year well via performances by Nikki Manson, Alessandro Schenini and Jax Thoirs.
