Birmingham’s Chris Davies speaks on Jack Robinson having a bizarre moment to forget in the draw against Sheffield United.
Femi Seriki was sent off for the Blades on 23 minutes for bringing down Ibrahim Osman after Patrick Roberts’ through ball sent the forward just outside the area.
Marvin Ducksch put the Blues ahead with a stunning first-half free-kick lead 25 minutes in.
Shortly after that, Jack Robinson handled the ball in his own box, having mistakenly thinking play was dead for a goal-kick), conceding a penalty. Sydie Peck stepped up and had it saved by James Beadle.
Patrick Bamford equalised for Sheffield United just before half time. Chris Davies took Robinson off during the break.
Birmingham dominated in the second half with Ducksch striking the woodwork twice, Ibrahim Osman also had a chance come back off the post.
The result sees the Blades sitting 15th in the Championship table, 11 points above the drop zone and 10 from the playoff places with 8 games to go.
Birmingham are 9th with 53 points after 37 games, and are 7 points from the playoff places.

“It’s a strange one but it’s a penalty obviously,” said Davies, per Birmingham Live. “A bizarre situation but James had to regain his concentration quickly for that and fair play, he did that.
“(Christoph) Klarer was very important with the rebound actually. As much as the save was important, Klarer’s rebound was equally important.”
On taking Jack Robinson off at half time: “Jack was on a yellow card and he was our only player on a yellow. Any little slip or late tackle and the referee can even the game up and give a second yellow, then you’re 10 v 10, so it was a simple tactical change to avoid it.”
On the game: “Naturally we’re frustrated with the outcome because we felt that with that man advantage we could have gone on to win the game.
“I was pleased with how we started 11 v 11, we had a good sharpness about us and we were playing well and deservedly go a goal up.
“From that point I was confident that we would go on. The real turning point is the goal just before half-time – a goal out of nothing – it gave them something to hang on to. It was really sloppy from our point of view.
“Second half, my feeling is that we were huffing and puffing and the players gave everything. We hit the woodwork four times and if one of them sneaks in, it’s a pretty comfortable win for us, I think.
“In the end, we couldn’t get that goal and we had to settle for a point.”
Meanwhile, Sheffield United boss Chris Wilder hit out at unfair accusations which were made about his players’ attitude.

Here’s how fans reacted as Birmingham’s Chris Davies speaks on Jack Robinson having a bizarre moment to forget…
@bets8181: Keepers a clear cheat 😂 knew what he’d done but tried to carry along with it
@Dwalcottkro: I stand by he’s awful i dont get when i see our fans make a case. For him hes shocking
@AsWeJourneyOn: How many “moments to forget” has he had this season? He is capable operator at this level but my god is he a bit thick. It’s too costly for me, prefer Klarer and Neumann all day. #BCFC
@PaulSmi71851275: And it was against his old club, makes you wonder doesn’t it.
@Stoph76: I genuinely the thought it was a goal kick too and turned to talk to chap and looked back and it was a pen lol. Literally no idea what was going on lol.
@Blad3Runn3r1889: Secret agent Robbo.😂
@Bluenose_71: He’s been an absolute liability all season 🤦🏼♂️
@LeeSimmo73: Frightening to think we’ve got fans who’d want him back cos he sticks his chest out.
@Pedro_BCFC: This guy should never wear a blues top again tbh. An absolute liability.
@grassrootsrefJa: This is a player who has already been sent off twice this season and now he’s done this. At what point does he get sacked?
@Bradley_AJ: This is still absolutely mental and I just can’t believe it 🤣
@_tykro: I never want to see this guy play for blues again. Complete liability, every time he plays he does some dumb shit. I’d rather have Marc Roberts back than this clown
@LPSimcox: And there’s still some fans that want him back?!
@danperks05: He shouldn’t have played again after he got 2 red cards in his first 4 games absolute liability #bcfc
@KevinTurvey21: Just seen today’s penalty incident. The ball ran through to Beadle so I was looking around the stadium momentarily. What the feck was Robinson doing?? There was no offside, no foul, the ball wasn’t out of play. Absolutely staggering that. #BCFC
@BLS5432 (Replying to @BCFC): Don’t just skirt around that calamity from Robinson. Absolutely got out of jail thanks to Beadle. Infuriating from Robinson.
