Black Queens forward Sherifatu Sumaila has sealed a move to Norwegian outfit FK Haugesund.

The 29-year-old signed a two-year deal after a successful trial.

She is expected to add her experience to the team as they prepare for the new campaign in the Norwegian women’s league.

“My main strength is probably my speed and that I am a technically good player who is good with the ball. In addition, I have always scored a lot of goals and provided many assists and now I want to contribute to our having a good season here in Haugesund. I am a little far from my absolute top form, but I hope to soon be back at the level I usually am,” said Sumaila after sealing the deal.

Sports Director of Haugesund, Rune Lothe believes Sumaila’s experience will be valuable to the club in the upcoming campaign.

“Sheri” will be our last signing in this window. She made a good impression in the trial game earlier this month and gives us even more offensive cards to pull out of our sleeves. She is a well-traveled player who has experience with many  different types of football, and we believe we will be able to get the best out of her when facing the Norwegian Toppserie,” said Lothe.

Sumaila last played for Saudi side Al Shabab following spells in Spain (Rayo Vallecano and Parquesol), Israel (Hapoel Petach Tikva and Kiryat Gat), Sweden (Djurgården and Mallbacken) and the USA (LA Galaxy Orange County).
