Reports to: General Manager
Salary Range: $48,000-58,000

Job Summary: As a Assistant Racquets Professional at BTT, will support and contribute to the development of our racquet sports programs, with a focus on tennis and pickleball. This role includes leading junior and adult clinics, conducting private lessons, supporting events and player evaluations, and assisting with program planning and member engagement.

This is a growth-oriented position to designed with a path to develop into a Head Racquet Sports progressional role with demonstrated performance. You will work closely with the General Manager and Head Pro to build coaching experience, leadership skills, and program impact.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coaching and Player Development
    • Lead and assist junior clinics across Red, Orange, Green, and Yellow Ball levels using BTT’s structured curriculum and evaluation playbook.
    • Lead and develop group clinics for adult players focused on skill development, fun, and progression.
    • Teach private and semi-private lessons for juniors and adults.
    • Deliver high-quality pickleball instruction in private lessons and group clinics using the BTT Pickleball Development Program as a guide.
    • Provide hitting sessions and support tournament prep for high-level players.
    • Conduct structured player evaluations and complete documentation.
  • Program & Event Support
    • Assist in organizing and delivering match play, in-house tournaments, seasonal events, and USTA/DUPR play.
    • Participate in planning and execution of new and existing program offerings based on player needs.
    • Support coaching coverage for high-performance and competitive program under Head Pro guidance.
  • Facility and Equipment Oversight
    • Maintain and enhance the quality of the club’s tennis and pickleball facilities.
    • Ensure training equipment, courts, and balls are kept in optimal condition to deliver a top-tier playing experience.
    • Serve as staff lead during facility operating hours if needed, ensuring smooth daily operations and team coordination.
  • Member Engagement & Communication
    • Build rapport with members and families through on and off-court interactions and follow-ups.
    • Actively recruit participants for lessons and programs from within clinic and club traffic.
    • Promote pro shop sales, advise on inventory, and assist with racquet stringing services.
    • Gather feedback and make suggestions to continually improve programming and customer experience.
    • Communicate effectively with players, families, and team members to ensure a positive and professional experience.
  • Administrative Leadership
    • Serve weekly admin hours for planning, communication, member outreach, and program coordination as needed. Including but not limited to participating in team meetings, training, and program development sessions
    • Support front desk and pro shop operations as needed.
    • Track administrative and evaluation time using approved timekeeping procedures.

Schedule: This is a full-time position averaging 35-45 hours/week during sessions, including evenings and weekends. Flexibility in scheduling is required to meet the needs of the facility, which is open daily, Monday-Sunday from 8:00 am to 10:00 pm. Your weekly
schedule includes a mix of private lessons, group clinics, hitting sessions, event management/support, and administrative duties. Additional hours may be available for tournament coaching, facility coverage, and off-site programming.

Qualifications:

  • 1+ years coaching experience in junior/adult racquet sports.
  • UTR 7+ playing level or comparable experience.
  • Strong understanding of tennis fundamentals, technique, and teaching progression.
  • USPTA or PTR certification preferred (or willingness to complete)
  • PPR Pickleball certification preferred (or willingness to complete)
  • Competitive background as a college tennis player or high-level pro
  • Experience working with youth and adults of varying skill levels.
  • Positive, professional, team-oriented demeanor.
  • Badminton experience is a plus but not required

Work Environment:
This role is primarily on-court in an indoor climate-controlled facility, with some outdoor programming during the spring/summer. This position requires periods of standing, walking, and moderate physical exertion as well as administrative tasks in shared workspace areas.
