Another day and another Manny Pacquiao vs Floyd Mayweather rematch headline, with the Filipino fighting icon detailing to Boxing Scene’s Lance Pugmire the length he went to, to ensure his career-long rival did not renege on their deal, only to seemingly find he had, reportedly again, breached an agreement. This is, of course, to do with Mayweather’s insistence that any do-over with Pacquiao this year is nothing more than an exhibition. This, despite Netflix, and MP Promotions, issuing statements that the September showdown is an official fight, with the American Hall-of-Famer’s unbeaten record on the line. Boxing Social recently reported how this could cost Mayweather eight to nine figures in damages. But, for Pacquiao, it’s seemingly nothing new.
He told Pugmire that Mayweather “will face a lot of problems” if he cancels the bout. “From Netflix,” he said, and his own brand, MP Promotions.
“That’s why for this fight, I made sure that he signs first, based on my experience before. “Before the previous fight, we were dealing with him, dealing for like eight years. There were so many promises, and I think of all the times I signed a contract thinking that was the one. That was at least five years, with a lot of alibis. “Him [still] changing his mind … you need to honor your commitment. This time, there’s no reason for alibis or excuses.”
Regis Prograis vs Conor Benn Latest News
Internet speculation that Regis Prograis was carrying an injury into the Conor Benn fight on April 11 had reached such a tipping point that even Matchroom chairman Eddie Hearn commented on it, and essentially said it was all true.
Well, Prograis didn’t get the memo.
“Maybe somebody out there is trying to stop the fight or whatever and they saying things like that, but nothing going on with me,” he insisted this week.

David Morrell Calls Out Ben Whittaker

One of the best bouts of April, light heavyweight fight between David Morrell and Callum Smith, was recently cancelled as the latter, his promoter Matchroom said, suffered injury.
At only 28 years old, Ben Whittaker is thrust into the main event, as organizers elevated his co-main event versus Braian Nahuel Suarez. The event will still take place at the Liverpool Arena in England on April 18.
Morrell still wants to compete on that card. He event wants to take on Whittaker.
“Ben Whittaker, I’m ready to fight on April 18th,” he said.
“How are you older than me and still a prospect? Let’s give the fans the fight they want to see.”
