The reigning Belgian champions Brasschaat Braves have added a new import player for the 2026 Division One season. He is from the United States and is a utility player.
On their socials, the Brasschaat Braves announced they signed utility player Stefan Leo. Stefan is a versatile player that can play all outfield positions and serve as relief pitcher. Next to these qualities, he appears to be a powerful hitter.
Stefan has also experience as a coach and will serve as development coach as well.
He comes from the Division II college Holy Family University. In his biography on Baseball Jobs Overseas, Stefan says “In the Outfield I have very good jumps and reads on ball to make up for my lack of speed, with an above average arm when throwing to bases.”
In 2017, Stefan dislocated his throwing shoulder and had a shoulder reconstruction surgery. He is slowly getting back into pitching to see if his shoulder can handle the strain. Knowing this, the Brasschaat Braves, do take a gamble with Stefan.
Stefan also stated at Baseball Jobs Overseas: “I have fallen in love with the game of baseball again after a rough two years in junior college, being able to be a reliable starter at the division 2 level really reignited my passion for the game. That being said, I have finished my collegiate career and do not want to hang up the cleats. I love the game and will do whatever I can to be able to continue to make my passion a mainstay in my life.”
[EDIT]
Yours truly was approached by a member of the Brasschaat Braves who told that Stefan will be hired mainly as an assistant coach instead of as a pitcher.
