The Bella Twins are officially back—and they have WWE President Nick Khan to thank for it.
After Brie Bella’s surprise return in the 2026 Women’s Royal Rumble, the WWE Hall of Famers are back in action as a tag team and have made it clear: they’re coming for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship, currently held by Rhea Ripley and IYO SKY.
During their appearance on Notsam Wrestling Live!, Brie opened up about the moment the door unexpectedly reopened for her WWE comeback.
“I’ve been wanting to come back. I would joke about it a lot but yeah, I kept hearing no,” Brie said. “So when it came Thanksgiving time, I was like, ‘Alright, I’m not going back,’ and I kind of just started to look at 2026 differently. I had a couple other opportunities that were put on the table… and then Nick Khan all of a sudden called me and I wasn’t expecting it and just really wanted me back.”
She added how surprised and grateful she was for the opportunity:
“I was very shocked, and I was like, ‘Alright….’ And I’m grateful to Nick for bringing me back because I definitely thought the door was closed, and I’m happy that it re-opened.”
Nikki Bella chimed in with her own story of how Khan reached out directly:
“I remember when I got my call from Nick. It’s so unexpected and then you’re like, woah, that’s life-changing.”
With renewed energy and a clear target in their sights, the Bellas are looking to make 2026 a defining year for their legacy. And with Nick Khan behind their return, it’s clear WWE sees value in the twin power returning to the tag team spotlight.
