The Philadelphia Phillies are looking to bounce back in 2026 after getting knocked around by the reigning World Series Champion Los Angeles Dodgers in the National League Division Series (3-1).
Outside of bringing back their core of designated hitter Kyle Schwarber (five years, $150 million) and catcher J.T. Realmuto, the Phillies’ offseason focused on their franchise player, first baseman Bryce Harper. Harper was referred to as “not elite” by president of baseball operations Dave Dombrowski, who questioned Harper’s ability to be a top player in the game.
When asked about Dombrowski’s comments, the two-time MVP revealed that he was shocked to hear Dombrowski make those comments, as he thought those types of issues would be kept “in-house.”
