Cabfix Ladies, who currently compete in the Greater Accra Regional Football Association (GARFA) Women’s Division One League and also have their U15 players participating in the maiden FIFA U15 Girls Regional Colts Leagues, were honoured to take part in a special Black History Month celebration organised by Tribe Ghana in partnership with the Embassy of Canada in Ghana. The event was held at the Accra Sports Stadium on Friday, February 13, 2026.
The invitation formed part of activities marking Canada’s co-hosting of the FIFA World Cup 2026 as well as Ghana’s fifth qualification to the global tournament. The celebration brought together key stakeholders in football, entertainment, and youth development to promote unity, diversity, and the power of sport to inspire the next generation.
Each February, people across Canada participate in Black History Month activities that honour the legacy and contributions of Black people in their communities. The 2026 theme, “30 Years of Black History Month: Honouring Black Brilliance Across Generations — From Nation Builders to Tomorrow’s Visionaries,” celebrates three decades of recognition while highlighting both the pioneers who fought for civil rights and the emerging leaders shaping the future.
The event featured light training sessions, fun football activities, and engaging interactions on the pitch. Cabfix Ladies players shared memorable moments with football enthusiasts, influencers, and guests who attended the programme.
Football legends including Samuel Kuffour and Anthony Baffoe were present, offering inspiration and sharing their experiences with young players. Representatives from the Ghana Football Association and members of the Professional Footballers Association of Ghana also graced the occasion, alongside staff of the Canadian Embassy.
The celebration created a vibrant and engaging atmosphere, strengthening ties between stakeholders in football, youth development, and cultural exchange.
Cabfix Ladies expressed appreciation to the organisers for the opportunity to be part of the meaningful initiative. The club described the experience as both fun and impactful, reaffirming its commitment to youth empowerment, cultural exchange, and the growth of women’s football in Ghana.
