Caitlin Clark is officially part of Team USA. After playing just 13 games in the 2025 WNBA season due to a groin injury and a bone bruise, she has now fully recovered and is set to contribute to the national team in the upcoming FIBA Women’s World Cup Qualifying Tournament.
The Indiana Fever star, who averaged 16.5 points on 36.7% shooting, along with 5.0 rebounds, 8.8 assists and 1.6 steals in 2025, arrived in Miami on Friday and joined the team’s first practice on Saturday.
Team USA posted a video of the players’ arrivals for practice, and Clark’s moment stood out to many because she was behind Los Angeles Sparks star Kelsey Plum.

As Plum entered while vibing to the music, Clark followed her but avoided dancing like the veteran guard. When Plum saw her, they were all smiles. The Sparks star also greeted Clark with a slight pinch on her side.
Fans took notice of the interaction and commented on Team USA’s post.
“Caitlin and Kelsey,” a commenter wrote, along with a smiling face emoji. Another one said, “What a fun duo! Caitlin Clark and Kelsey Plum!”
“Caitlin and Kelsey stealing the show again,” a fan added.
A fourth supporter shared, “Aww CC trying hard to avoid dancing while KP bringing the vibe! So cute!”
“I knew CC would be with KP…” a poster stated.
A follower asked, “Plum and Clark are bffs now?”

Clark and Plum are now teammates on the USA senior squad, so it shouldn’t be surprising to see them interact and have some fun. Furthermore, the two already practiced together back in December during the team’s training camp.
However, it’s understandable why many were shocked. After all, Plum went viral during the 2025 WNBA All-Star Game when she appeared to diss Team Clark. At the time, Plum said that no members of Clark’s All-Star team had attended the meeting where they discussed wearing T-shirts that say, “Pay Us What You Owe Us.”
Plum later clarified that it was a “bad joke” as she attempted to lighten the mood, per ESPN. Regardless, it’s clear that Clark and Plum have a good relationship.
