Callum Hudson-Odoi scores in narrow Nottingham Forest loss to Fenerbahce – Ghana Latest Football News, Live Scores, Results

English-Ghanaian winger Callum Hudson-Odoi came off the bench to score for Nottingham Forest, but his second-half strike was not enough in a 2–1 home defeat to Fenerbahce in the Europa League play-off second leg.

Forest started the night 3–0 up from the first leg, yet quickly found themselves under pressure when Kerem Akturkoglu put the visitors ahead on 22 minutes to rattle the City Ground.

Fenerbahce continued to push after the break and doubled their lead from the penalty spot in the 48th minute, again through Akturkoglu, to make it 2–0 on the night and 3–2 on aggregate. Vitor Pereira responded with a flurry of changes, introducing Hudson-Odoi on 46 minutes to inject pace and direct running into Forest’s attack.

The winger delivered on 68 minutes, timing his run perfectly to meet Ola Aina’s pass and finish clinically for 2–1, restoring Forest’s two-goal aggregate cushion at 4–2.

Despite late pressure from the Turkish side, Forest held firm to secure their place in the Europa League round of 16.

Next, they turn their attention back to the Premier League with a trip to face Brighton & Hove Albion on Sunday, March 1.
