Great Britain have announced their captaincy team for the Women’s World Championship Division I Group B which gets under way in Puigcerdà, Spain this weekend.
Louise Adams will captain the team with Katie Marsden, Jodie Alderson-Smith and Katherine Gale confirmed as alternate captains.
Adams made her full international debut against Denmark in April 2012 when the UK hosted the Women’s World Championship Division I Group B in Hull.
“Playing for GB is already such an honour but having the captaincy is very special,” said Adams.
“To have the girls to vote for it makes it even more special. I can’t really put it into words but I am very proud.”
GB will face Kazakhstan, Korea, Latvia, Netherlands and hosts Spain at the Polisportiu Arena from 12th to 18th April.
After a training camp at the National Ice Centre in Nottingham, GB flew out to Spain today to continue their preparations.
GB begin this year’s tournament on Sunday against Korea with a 13:00 face-off (12:00 BST).
