Carmelo Hayes is opening up about life outside the ring, and he made it clear that being in a relationship with someone who understands the wrestling business makes a huge difference.
During his appearance on the Battleground Podcast, Hayes spoke about what it’s like being with fellow WWE talent Kelani Jordan and how their shared experiences help them deal with the pressures that come with the industry. The topic came up as the conversation shifted toward balancing personal life with the physical and mental grind that comes with being a WWE Superstar.
Hayes explained that wrestling isn’t just about what fans see on television. There’s a heavy emotional and mental toll behind the scenes, and having someone who understands those struggles gives him a major advantage. He described their relationship as something that makes navigating the ups and downs of the business much easier because both of them know exactly what the other is going through.
“I think it’s a cheat code. I mean, a sense of like you know, you got somebody that understands kind of the ups and the downs of the business.”
Hayes went on to explain that being with someone in the same industry means there’s no need to explain the demands, frustrations, or sacrifices that come with wrestling. He pointed out that outsiders often don’t realize how much time, effort, and emotional energy goes into being successful in WWE, but having a partner who lives the same lifestyle creates a strong support system.
With Hayes continuing to build his career on WWE television and planning a wedding later this year, his comments offer fans a glimpse into how important personal support can be behind the scenes, especially in an industry known for its demanding schedule.
