The Yorkshire Cricket Foundation (YCF) has today confirmed the appointment of Catherine Douglas as its new independent Chair.
Catherine joins having previously worked in the banking and finance industry, where she gained experience in leadership, strategic development and business growth. She also has previous experience as a Non-Executive Director and Board member where she advocated positive social impact.
In her new role as YCF Chair, Catherine will provide strategic leadership to the Board of Trustees, working in tandem with YCF Managing Director, Shariq Mumtaz to support and strengthen the YCF’s mission.
She will also drive the vision and purpose across recreational and community cricket across the region, ensuring the game continues to inspire, engage and positively impact communities across Yorkshire.
Speaking on Catherine’s appointment, Shariq Mumtaz said, “We are delighted to welcome Catherine to the YCF at such an exciting time. Her previous experience lends itself to the development and the growth we envisage at the charity, to enrich lives and communities across Yorkshire through our committed strategy.
“The Board of Trustees and I welcome Catherine to the team, and we look forward to working with her.”

Catherine succeeds Ian Cotterhill who has been acting Chair since the merger of the Yorkshire Cricket Board (YCB) and the YCF in July 2025, and a Board Director of the YCB since July 2012.
