The Champions Trophy budget for renovating three stadiums is allocated by the Pakistan Cricket. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced PKR 12.80 billion for refurbishing three stadiums ahead of the Champions Trophy in the upcoming year.

The PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi supervised the 72 meetings of the Board of Governors where the approval of funds for the next year 2024-2025 was approved. This meeting was organized at the National Cricket Academy and all members were present in the fund meeting.

Before the main event, the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, the National Bank Cricket Arena in Karachi, and the Rawalpindi International Cricket Stadium will be upgraded.

In the meantime, Rs. 4.50 billion in funding was allocated for the development of domestic cricket. An extension of the contracts of domestic players was also approved.

For the first time, women’s cricket received a budget rise of Rs. 70 million to Rs. 240 million, and their central contracts were also approved.

Members received an update on the arrangements for the ICC Champions Trophy in Pakistan the next year during the meeting. International standards would be upheld for the Champions Trophy, according to Chairman PCB. Stadium renovations will be finished in time for the event.

Recall that the Champions Trophy is scheduled to take place from February 19 to March 9.

The PCB handed the ICC last month the Champions Trophy itinerary for final approval, which included the cities of Karachi, Lahore, and Rawalpindi as the tournament’s host cities.

Lahore will host seven games, including the championship game. Both the first game and the semifinals will take place in Karachi’s National Stadium. Three matches in all will take place in Karachi. There will be five matches, including the semi-final, in Rawalpindi.

The ICC Champions Trophy budget will be played for the first time in eight years at this event. It was last played in 2017, with Pakistan winning after a final victory over India.
