St Joseph’s Boys Kitale (JOBO) launched their campaign with a gritty 12–7 victory over Sang’alo Boys in one of the morning highlights. Kipsaus Secondary then stamped their authority with a commanding 19–0 win over UoE High School, while St Patrick’s Iten squeezed past KMTC 3–0 in a tense low-scoring contest.
The hosts, Chebisaas Boys, thrilled the home crowd with a dominant 31–0 display against Kurgong to announce themselves as title contenders. Laboret also got off to a flying start, brushing aside Sang’alo 7–0 before continuing their strong run later in the day.
UoE High endured a difficult outing, suffering a second defeat as they went down 21–0 to Kipsombe, who claimed their first victory of the tournament. KMTC’s tough start continued after a narrow 3–0 loss to Wareng High, who picked up their opening win.
