Chelsea continued their impressive run of form under Liam Rosenior on Saturday as they beat struggling Wolves 3-1 at Molineux.

Cole Palmer netted a first-half hat-trick to put the Blues in a commanding position at the break, converting two penalties that Joao Pedro had won, before meeting Marc Cucurella’s low cross to add his and Chelsea’s third.

Although Tolu Arokodare pulled one back for Rob Edwards’ side after the break, the visitors held on to record a fourth consecutive Premier League victory since Rosenior succeeded Enzo Maresca last month.

Now, it appears that Chelsea are one of a number of club who had scouts in attendance to watch a Ghanaian midfielder in action over the weekend.

As reported by TEAMtalk, Chelsea, Arsenal, and Manchester United all had scouts in attendance to watch midfielder Caleb Yirenkyi in action for FC Nordsjaelland on Sunday.

The 20-year-old impressed during the first game back after the Danish top flight’s winter break, scoring Nordsjaelland’s first goal before providing the assist for their second as they beat Sonderjyske 2-1.

Yirenkyi is a product of the renowned Right to Dream Academy in Ghana, which has produced dozens of players that have featured in top flight leagues around Europe in recent years, including Mohammed Kudus and Simon Adingra.

The young midfielder has been likened to his fellow countryman Michael Essien, primarily due to his ball-winning abilities and progressive passing.

Chelsea will face fierce competition in the race to land the Ghanaian, though, with Brighton and Hove Albion also said to have been monitoring the player for several months; the Seagulls have identified Yirenkyi as a long-term replacement for Carlos Baleba.

Yirenkyi is under contract at the Farum-based side until the end of the 2029/30 campaign, which puts the Danish giants under very little pressure to sell the player any time soon.
