Arsenal will continue their pursuit of an unprecedented quadruple when they visit Bayer Leverkusen in the first leg of their Champions League last 16 tie on Wednesday.

The Gunners currently boast a seven-point lead at the top of the Premier League, and will also face Manchester City in the final of the Carabao Cup later this month.

Mikel Arteta’s side have been drawn against Southampton in the FA Cup quarter-finals, which means the north London outfit could still feasibly win all four competitions this season.

Away from the action, however, it has emerged that Arsenal are one of three Premier League clubs interested in a Bundesliga midfielder.

According to TEAMtalk, Arsenal are joined by Manchester United and Chelsea in showing interest in SC Freiburg midfielder Johan Manzambi.

The report claims that all three English sides have scouted the 20-year-old in recent months, with Manzambi quickly building a reputation as one of the most promising young midfielders in the German top flight.

Having joined Freiburg from Swiss side Servette as a teenager, Manzambi has since progressed into the first team and has now made 42 appearances for his current side across all competitions at senior level.

It is claimed that Man United have identified the Switzerland international as a potential transfer target as they look to overhaul their midfield, with the youngster seen as either an alternative to other targets, or an option to add squad depth for the Red Devils.

Arsenal, meanwhile, have already held informal talks with Freiburg about a move for the midfielder, who is regarded by those at The Emirates as a player who could develop into an elite midfielder.

Chelsea are also said to be in the running to land the Swiss player, with the Blues having adopted a policy of signing talented young players in recent years.
