Chelsea welcome League One side Port Vale to Stamford Bridge in the FA Cup quarter-finals on April 4.
The Blues had enjoyed an impressive run of form after Liam Rosenior took charge following the departure of Enzo Maresca in January, but a recent run of four consecutive losses across all competitions has piled pressure on the Englishman.
After the visit of Port Vale, Chelsea face potentially tough Premier League games against both Manchester City and Manchester United, a run of games that could have a huge impact on their bid to finish in the top four and qualify for the Champions League next season.
While pressure continued to mount on Rosenior, it has now emerged that the west London club could look to one of their former players to replace the ex-Hull City boss if he is dismissed.
As per Sports Boom, Chelsea are considering attempting to appoint Cesc Fábregas as their head coach if they do decide to sack Rosenior.
The Spaniard is currently in charge of Italian outfit Como and has received huge praise for his side’s performances this season, with the Lombardy side currently sitting fourth in the Italian top flight table.

During his playing career, Fabregas made 198 appearances for Chelsea between 2014 and 2019 – scoring 22 goals and registering 57 assists – and also enjoyed spells with Arsenal, Barcelona, and Monaco before ending his playing career with Como.
Fabregas has won 36 of his 79 matches in charge of Como, and the report suggests that the former Spain international is on the radar of Chelsea as they ponder potential replacements for Rosenior.
Despite signing a six-year contract when he took charge of the Blues in January, Rosenior finds himself under pressure already and the report claims that those in charge of the club are keen to appoint Fabregas as his successor if they do opt for a chance.
