Chelsea travel to face Championship side Hull City in the FA Cup fourth round on Friday night.
The Blues have been in good form since Liam Rosenior took charge of the club last month, winning seven of their ten matches across all competitions.
Although they were held to a draw by Leeds United in their last outing, Rosenior will be confident about his side’s chances of defeating his former side Hull.
Rosenior managed the Tigers between November 2022 and March 2024, and has since taken charge of Strasbourg before being appointed by Chelsea.
In the meantime, it has emerged that the west London outfit are eyeing a move for a Premier League star.
As per Spanish outlet Fichajes, via CaughtOffside, the Blues are plotting a move to sign Newcastle United midfielder Bruno Guimaraes.
The report claims that the London side have identified the Brazilian as a potential transfer target as they look to bolster Rosenior’s squad.

Guimaraes, 28, joined Newcastle from French giants Lyon back in 2022 and has since made 189 appearances for the Magpies across all competitions, scoring 31 goals and providing the same number of assists.
So far this term the midfielder has featured 35 times for Eddie Howe’s side.
It is claimed that those in charge of Chelsea’s recruitment view the Brazil international as the ideal signing for the summer, as the midfielder is a player that can not only dictate the tempo of the game, but can also assist defensively.
Guimaraes is under contract at St. James’ Park until the end of the 2027/28 campaign and would likely cost in the region of £65 million, but the report suggests that Chelsea would be willing to spend that sort of money in order to sign the ex-Lyon man.
