Chris Jericho Interested in Working TNA Amid WWE Return Rumors

Chris Jericho might not be heading back to WWE just yet—according to a new insider update, the former AEW World Champion is eyeing a move to TNA Wrestling.

On the January 8, 2026 episode of the Final Bell Media podcast, Andrew Baydala revealed new details about Jericho’s next potential destination, revealing the veteran is “very interested in working TNA.” This comes just days after WWE sparked speculation with a Jericho-inspired tease before the January 5 episode of Monday Night RAW.

“I’m saying this on record—Chris Jericho has already agreed to a WWE return. There’s a lot of smoke around this from what I was gathering from people who were calling and texting me, from people who would know, that Chris Jericho is very interested in working TNA.”

Baydala also suggested that Jericho debuting on TNA’s AMC premiere on January 15 would be a major moment for the company:

“What a statement it would be if Chris Jericho shows up on the first episode of TNA on AMC. There are not many free agents out there that could move the needle for TNA.”

The update follows a surge of fan theories after RAW GM Adam Pearce used the phrase “Who will break down the walls and walk out with gold?”—a line famously tied to Jericho’s WWE debut. Despite the nod, PWInsider quickly reported that Jericho was never scheduled to appear and was actually in Los Angeles during the broadcast.

“PWInsider.com is told Jericho was never slated for the show and is actually in Los Angeles this week.”

Tony Khan addressed Jericho’s status the day before on the Adrian Hernandez show, confirming Jericho is still on the AEW roster—even if he hasn’t appeared on TV since April 2025.

“Well, first of all, I’m really grateful whenever I talk about people who have been here from the very beginning and think about that first show in Las Vegas. None of this would be possible without Chris Jericho, who’s been instrumental in AEW from the start.

I love Chris very much, and I would say that Chris is always a big part of AEW. This promotion is here to stay, and Chris Jericho is a huge part of our history. We’re really proud of what we’ve been able to accomplish, and Chris is an instrumental part of that.”

Adding to the intrigue, Jericho didn’t exactly deny the rumors when asked about a possible return during a recent YouTube livestream. Instead, he smirked and replied, “You never know. You never know.” So, between WWE nods, AEW silence, and now TNA talks—Chris Jericho’s next chapter might be the most unpredictable one yet.
