The biggest star in German MMA is set to return to one of the sport’s most iconic European venues.

German fan favorite Christian Eckerlin (18-8, 1 NC) has been officially announced as the first fighter scheduled to compete at OKTAGON 94, which will take place on Saturday, September 26, 2026, at Deutsche Bank Park, the home stadium of Eintracht Frankfurt.

The highly anticipated event is expected to be the largest MMA show in Europe this year, as OKTAGON MMA continues its 10th anniversary celebrations with another historic stadium card.

“The King of Germany” Returns

Eckerlin earned the nickname “The King of Germany” after headlining the promotion’s first stadium event in the country, defeating fellow German fighter Christian Jungwirth in front of a massive crowd in October 2024. Now, with the support of his hometown fans in Frankfurt once again behind him, Eckerlin hopes to deliver another unforgettable performance.

A former professional footballer who transitioned into mixed martial arts, Eckerlin has become one of the most recognizable figures in European MMA. His aggressive fighting style and deep connection with the Frankfurt fan base have made him one of OKTAGON’s biggest draws.

A Comeback Season for Eckerlin

The German star endured a challenging 2025 campaign, suffering defeats to Robert Pukač and veteran Ivica Trušček. However, Eckerlin rebounded in impressive fashion earlier this year when he defeated Matouš Kohout in Hamburg, proving that he still belongs among the promotion’s top contenders.

With adjustments to his training regimen and renewed focus, Eckerlin believes a new version of himself is ready to take center stage.

“Eckerlin version 2.0 has arrived and is ready to display just how dominant he can be.”

A Stadium Spectacle

OKTAGON 94 promises to be more than just a fight card. The event is expected to feature many of the biggest names in European MMA competing on one of the sport’s largest stages.

In addition to high-level competition inside the cage, fans attending the event will experience a full entertainment spectacle, including a halftime performance by a famous musical artist and other special surprises planned throughout the evening.

The venue itself holds a special place in MMA history. During OKTAGON 62 in 2024, a world-record crowd of 59,148 fans packed Deutsche Bank Park, setting the attendance record for an MMA event.

With tickets already selling quickly—despite only one fighter currently announced—the promotion is on track to deliver another historic night in Frankfurt.
