Christy Hemme has had a wide-ranging career, and recently opened up about a nervous talk with her child regarding her past she’ll soon have to have.
Hemme recently spoke to WrestlingNews’ SoCal Val on the latest episode of The Velvet Ropes, and was asked about having previously appeared in Playboy magazine. Hemme noted that, for the first time, she’ll be bringing one of her kids to the For the Love of Wrestling convention, and will have to explain to them about her past.
“I’m going to be bringing her with me to For the Love of Wrestling. And this is the first time I’m bringing one of my kids because I realized long ago that for me to bring my child would mean I would have to explain all of the parts of my career,” said Hemme. “And within the box of fun that is Christy Hemme, a talent, is Playboy. So that means I’m gonna have to explain to whoever said child is with me, that mommy did Playboy and we would have to have a conversation around it…”
Hemme joked that she couldn’t remember the last time she was so nervous to have a talk. She said the talk was “interesting,” but that at the end of the day, she can now bring her daughter around due to it.
“So, oh my gosh Val, this conversation was hilarious. I was literally, I don’t remember the last time I’ve been nervous to have a conversation with Charlie Rose. I was sweating. I was like breathing… I finally got it out and we had a conversation and we talked through what it was, but it was, it was um, it was interesting. And all that to say, now she can come with me because she knows all of the things.”
Hemme is a retired wrestler, ring announcer, and backstage personality. She appeared for both WWE and TNA Wrestling, as well as various other promotions, throughout her career, which spanned nearly 20 years.
