CINCINNATI — Cincinnati men’s basketball junior guard Jizzle James, who was dismissed from the team in July, has returned to the Bearcats’ official roster, coach Wes Miller announced Wednesday.

James — a 6-foot-2 Orlando, Fla., native whose dismissal was over undisclosed personal issues — is the son of Pro Football Hall of Fame running back Edgerrin James.

A former 4-star prospect, James debuted for the Bearcats in the 2023-24 season and has appeared in 72 career games at Cincinnati. He led the team in points (12.7) and assists (3.5) per game last season, earning All-Big 12 honorable mention.

Cincinnati, in its fifth season under Miller, is 6-4 and coming off a loss to Georgia. The Bearcats host Alabama State on Wednesday night and will play Clemson in Greenville, S.C., on Sunday. The team opens Big 12 action at home against Houston on Jan. 3.
