CM Punk is still feeling the emotional weight of losing his beloved dog Larry — and months later, the grief hasn’t faded.
While speaking to GamingBible on March 5, 2026, Punk opened up about how deeply Larry’s passing continues to affect him. The conversation came as WWE 2K26 revealed that Larry — Punk’s rescue dog from PAWS Chicago — will appear as an in-game manager in MyFACTION mode. For Punk and his wife, AJ Lee, the tribute carries a lot of emotional weight. Punk admitted that even months after Larry’s death in December 2025, he’s still struggling with the loss.
“It means a lot. I’ve cried once a day since Thanksgiving, you know, so it’s still pretty fresh, and it’s still pretty raw,” Punk said.
The inclusion of Larry in WWE 2K26 turned what could have been a painful reminder into something meaningful for Punk. Seeing his dog represented in the game helps keep those memories alive in a positive way.
“I don’t know if it’s ever gonna go away. My experience with Larry, although painful, I think we ultimately did a beautiful thing for him. But looking at pictures of him always makes me smile. Being able to share that joy with the world, it means a lot, you know.”
Punk also revealed that the support he’s received from fans since Larry’s passing has meant a great deal to him. Many supporters continue to show up at events with signs, artwork, and other tributes dedicated to Larry.
“I see constant signs in the crowd and people’s messages, specifically about Larry. It’s great, you know, fans are always drawing him and making bracelets with his name on them and gestures like that. I love that little dude, and it’s cool to see that a lot of other people did too.”
Larry passed away in December 2025 after spending nearly a decade with Punk and Lee, becoming a beloved part of the wrestler’s life both inside and outside the ring. Now, with Larry appearing in WWE 2K26, Punk says the tribute ensures that his “best boy” will continue to live on in a way that fans can experience alongside him.
