Tom Brady may have stirred the pot by calling WWE “cute,” but CM Punk isn’t joining the outrage — in fact, he’s defending the NFL legend.
After Brady’s comment on Logan Paul’s podcast triggered reactions from WWE stars like Oba Femi, Randy Orton, and Liv Morgan, the World Heavyweight Champion stepped in with a very different take. During an appearance on ESPN’s Unsportsmanlike on February 24, 2026, Punk addressed the controversy head-on and questioned why the locker room — and fans — were so upset.
“Tom Brady said WWE is cute. What’s wrong with cute? Why is everybody getting so upset about it?”
Instead of seeing it as disrespect, Punk brushed it off entirely. Then he turned the comparison back toward football.
“Tom said WWE was cute — I don’t know why everyone’s got an attitude about that. Cute’s good, right? There are people who watch the NFL too, where men wear tight tights.”
Brady’s original remark had already led to Oba Femi challenging him to step into the ring and “lace up the boots” before forming an opinion. But Punk’s defense changes the tone of the debate. Rather than escalating the situation, he minimized it — making it clear the reaction may be bigger than the statement itself.
With WrestleMania season in full swing and crossover conversations heating up between sports and entertainment, this back-and-forth only leads to speculation about whether Brady could ever appear in a WWE ring. For now, though, CM Punk has made it clear: he’s not offended — and he doesn’t think anyone else should be either.
Do you agree with CM Punk that Tom Brady’s “cute” comment isn’t a big deal, or do you think WWE talent had every right to fire back? Drop your thoughts in the comments below and let us know where you stand.
