WWE is all set to step into uncharted territories for the first time as they are about to leave cable television while Netflix will be playing host to their unhinged madness. WWE Monday Night Raw becomes the latest addition to the already bloated list of sports to join the exciting world of streaming while fans believe that this is where a new evolution takes shape.
Earlier names that had already made the ripples in streaming industry are the likes of Thursday Night Football which comes on Prime Video while Friday Night Baseball has already made its footfall in Apple TV+. Now with WWE coming down to Netflix, Triple H has already made it clear that Attitude Era is coming back.
However, CM Punk has made it clear that this shouldn’t be an excuse to just use profanity. Talking on the SI Media Podcast, Punk emphasized that this newfound freedom should be utilized in a very sensible manner and not just for the unreserved use of expletives.
Here is what CM Punk had to say about WWE’s newfound freedom
Punk said, “I feel like we’re pushing the envelope now, and I don’t want people to use Netflix as a crutch to say the f-word. I feel that’s immediately where everybody goes, ‘We’re going to get to swear.’ No. If everybody swears, it doesn’t mean anything. If everybody is throwing the bird, it doesn’t mean anything. If every show, someone is bleeding and they fall off a building, it doesn’t mean anything.”
However, WWE has already started testing its boundaries by pushing the Cody Rhodes segment where Rock beat him bloody in the build-up to the Showcase of Immortals. It wasn’t just Cody who faced the wrath but even CM Punk found himself at the receiving end of Drew McIntyre’s bloodied anger. With Netflix on the cards, the fans can hope for an even bloodier display and definitely the cuss words may come in as a part of the diction.
