Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath honored Team India’s off-spinner Kuldeep Yadav at his residence, sharing a photo of the event on X. The picture, showing Yogi presenting a gift to Kuldeep, quickly went viral on social media. Kuldeep had played a key role in the Men in Blue’s recent T20 World Cup victory.

The Kanpur-born cricketer finished with 10 wickets in 5 matches at 13.90 alongside an economy rate of 6.95. Kuldeep Yadav did not play in the USA leg of the T20 World Cup tournament, but replaced Mohammed Siraj in the West Indies matches.

Siraj was replaced by Kuldeep Yadav, who made his World Cup T20 debut against Afghanistan. The decision to replace Siraj by Kuldeep was the team’s best as Yadav dismissed 2 Afghan batsmen in his first match.

In India vs Australia, Kuldeep also took wickets of Mitchell Marsh and Glenn Maxwell, making his name big in the cricket world. He also took wickets of Harry Book, Sam Curran, Chris Jordan, and a joint run out of Liam Livingstone with Axar Patel in India vs England.

Kuldeep Yadav dedicates the win to Rohit Sharma

In a heartfelt statement, Kuldeep Yadav praised Rohit Sharma’s leadership. Yadav attributed the team’s success to Rohit’s captaincy and acknowledged his crucial role in their historic achievement.

Kuldeep was full of praise for Rohit for his captaincy and said that he led from the front with his aggressive batting.

“This World Cup was for him—the way he planned and the way he loved this team. The intent and approach that he used to talk about in team meetings, he implemented in the tournament while batting, led from the front. So this trophy is for him,” Kuldeep said on Aaj Tak.
