2. My trip began with #NBIndoorGrandPrix (special thanks to #Globalathletics, #LenoxHotel, and #NewBalance).

3. I then flew on #SnowmaggedonBoston on 24 January.

4. I spent 25 January-3 February for #DubaiMarathon, presented by #ASICSrunning. 20,000 plus ran in 4k and 10k plus marathon in Dubai, now in its 25th year. ASICS brilliant LIME Green shirts were everywhere at the Dubai Police Academy campus, start and finish of the Dubai Marathon (Feb 1, 2026).

5. Madrid Meeting Indoor (Feb. 6) was held at Calle de Gallur, the ONLY indoor facility of its type in Madrid, with seats for 2,500, SRO, and they were treated to Spanish NR in 60m hurdles, by Enrique Llopes, a brilliant shot put win by USA’s Jordan Geist at 22.04m, an exciting Women’s 1,500 meters with Birke Hayhom, and Nadia Battocletti, and a ER at 1,000 meters by Mohammed Attaoui! #WorldIndoorTour is supported by #ASICSrunning,

6. Ras Al Khaimah half-marathon (Feb. 14, 2026) , presented by ASICS running, had some exciting results for the 11,000 runners and walkers. Geoffrey Kamworer, who had won RAk in 2013, won again thirteen years later, in 58:14. Asmerich Anley, in her debut, charged to victory over the last 2k, in 67:22. The RAK half marathon is presented by #ASICS from 2026, 2027, and 2028.

7. ASICS Sound Running Invite, at JDL Fast Track, delivered in its debut year! Cole Hocker set an AR of 3, 45.94, and Cooper Lutkenhaus set a U20 WA of 1:44.03 at 800 meters. Nikki Hiltz dominated the 3000m in 8:34.95. Drew Hunter won the 5,000m in PB of 13:10.87 over Abdi Nur (13;11.59).

  • Larry Eder has had a 52-year involvement in the sport of athletics. Larry has experienced the sport as an athlete, coach, magazine publisher, and now, journalist and blogger. His first article, on Don Bowden, America’s first sub-4 minute miler, was published in RW in 1983. Larry has published several magazines on athletics, from American Athletics to the U.S. version of Spikes magazine. He currently manages the content and marketing development of the RunningNetwork, The Shoe Addicts, and RunBlogRun. Of RunBlogRun, his daily pilgrimage with the sport, Larry says: “I have to admit, I love traveling to far away meets, writing about the sport I love, and the athletes I respect, for my readers at runblogrun.com, the most of anything I have ever done, except, maybe running itself.” Also does some updates for BBC Sports at key events, which he truly enjoys.
