Kenia Enriquez Headlines in Strawweight Main Event
In the previously announced women’s strawweight (115 pounds) main event, three-time world boxing champion Kenia “Mexican Queen” Enriquez will continue her transition into mixed martial arts when she faces CaySea McBride.
Enriquez enters the matchup with a decorated background in boxing, compiling a 28-1 record with 11 knockouts, while remaining undefeated in MMA at 2-0. Across the cage, McBride, a Japanese Jiu-Jitsu black belt, will look to secure her first professional victory.
Tony Cortez Returns in Lightweight Co-Main Event
The co-main event will feature a lightweight (155 pounds) clash between rising prospect Tony “The Conqueror” Cortez (6-0) and veteran finisher Leonardo “Chimmy” Morales (15-11).
The 24-year-old Cortez, fighting out of Corona, California, will make a quick return to La Jaula, COMBATE GLOBAL’s signature cage, just two weeks after earning a second-round stoppage over previously unbeaten Cruz Garcia earlier this year.
A former multi-time amateur champion, Cortez has finished all six of his professional victories by either knockout, technical knockout, or submission.
Morales, a 33-year-old fighter from Managua, Nicaragua, brings significant experience into the contest. The veteran was a runner-up on the first season of The Ultimate Fighter: Latin America, and 11 of his 15 professional wins have come by way of finish.
Additional Fights Added to Card
Also announced for the event is a bantamweight (135 pounds) showdown between Ismael “Kraken” Zamora (9-4) and Chris “Chapo” Quiroz (5-1).
Zamora, a 25-year-old competitor from Mexico City, enters the fight looking to extend his momentum with a second consecutive win. Quiroz, fighting out of Tucson, Arizona, will attempt to continue his strong run as he seeks his fourth straight victory.
In the welterweight (170 pounds) division, Johan “El Samurai” Rodriguez (3-1) of Colombia via Phoenix will face Joshua Sierra (3-2) of Miami, Florida.
The opening bout of the evening will feature an intriguing 180-pound catchweight contest between Luis Melendez and Jairo Villasenor. Melendez will make his professional MMA debut after compiling a 4-0 record in Karate Combat, while Villasenor enters the fight with an 0-3 professional record.
