Following the end of the day, Rohit Sharma provided a major update on Pant’s injury.
During the second day of the first Test between India and New Zealand, Rishabh Pant sustained a blow on his knee and had to walk off the field. The initial impressions didn’t look promising, for he was limping and somehow made it to the pavilion.
Following the end of the day, Rohit Sharma provided a major update on Pant’s injury. He revealed the ball hit straight on his kneecap, a place where his surgery was done after the accident.
Hence, that area has swelled up, but the move to send him off was precautionary. Rohit hopes he recovers from it soon.
“Unfortunately, the ball hit straight on his kneecap, the same leg where he’s done surgery on. So, he has got a little bit of swelling on it. It’s tender at this point in time, so it’s a precautionary measure. That was the reason for him to go inside. Hopefully, he can recover.”
