The National Union of Public Workers (NUPW) continues to mourn the loss of former General Secretary Joseph Goddard.
Goddard, who died on September 4, was described by colleagues as a “ferocious and unapologetic champion for the rights of workers” who was widely respected locally, regionally and internationally. They noted that he also worked tirelessly as a trade unionist in the education of public workers through the establishment of the Public Workers Academy.
The NUPW in a press release today stated that a condolence book will be available for signing from tomorrow until Friday, October 4 at its headquarters, Horatio Cooke Complex, Dalkeith Road, St Michael from 9 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.
It added that on Monday, September 23, 2024 Goddard will repose at the Union’s headquarters from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.
The National Council, Executive Committee and the Secretariat extended condolences to Goddard’s wife, Nadine and his children. (PR)
