Conor McGregor’s Potential White House Return Looking Less Likely

Conor McGregor’s Potential White House Return Looking Less Likely

As per Ariel Helwani, Conor McGregor most likely won’t make his return on the UFC White House card, although the Irishman is hell-bent on being a part of it.

McGregor has claimed he has accepted a date and “no name” opponent already and has urged the promotion to send him a contract, but it looks like a June 14 return, which he wanted, is not in the cards.

The promotion is set to spend around $60 million for the June 14 card. As per Mark Shapiro, President and Chief Operating Officer of UFC parent TKO Group Holdings, the promotion won’t profit from the White House event and sees this once-in-a-lifetime card as an investment for the long run. There won’t be any sponsors, live gate, or ticket sales for this event.

Although the UFC’s biggest draw, Conor McGregor, wanted to throw down on the South Lawn of the White House, as per Helwani, the chances of McGregor fighting on June 14 are bleak, as the promotion won’t waste its biggest draw on an event where they can’t make any real money.

However, there is good news for fans as “The Notorious” is expected to fight on the UFC International Fight Week card on July 11.

Helwani said:

“It doesn’t look like it’s gonna be Conor on the White House card. They have an International Fight Week card scheduled for July 11… There’s a greater chance of him fighting on that card than on the White House card. There’s no money to be made from the White House event.”

Since “The Notorious” has just two fights left on his UFC contract, it will be smarter for Dana White and Co. to reserve him for International Fight Week, where his star power can drive maximum revenue for the company.

Conor McGregor is the most drug-tested UFC Fighter of 2026

“The Notorious” is in the testing pool and is being monitored continuously. He recently became the most tested fighter on the UFC roster in 2026.

The Irishman has already been tested a total of 3 times this year.
