Police are still investigating the disappearance of Stacie-Ann Niechelle Haynes and Orsan DeFreitas.

In the case of the 40-year-old Haynes, a mother of three, of Bushy Park, St Philip, she was last seen leaving home on Tuesday, August 13.

On August 19, her brother Dale Haynes told the media they suspected foul play after several futile searches and rumours of a suspect in custody.

On August 21, a search came up empty.

At that time, he said: “The support is tremendous. We’ve had police, politicians, lawyers, and everyday people coming together to help in the search. We’ve covered areas in St John and St Philip, but so far, there’s been no sign of her.”

However, when contacted on Tuesday for an update, Haynes said there was no further update.

When Haynes went missing, she was wearing a white, blue and red Tommy Hilfiger shirt, long blue jeans and brown Michael Kors slides. She was described as about five feet, seven inches tall, with a dark complexion, brown eyes, thick lips and wearing her hair in a ponytail style.

Haynes has several tattoos, including the words “Davisha” on her right arm, “Hyacinth”

on her left forearm, and “Tonyisha” with a drawing of Minnie Mouse over her right breast. She also has a tattoo on her lower left leg with candies and cupcakes.

Meanwhile, DeFreitas of No. 15 Clapham Park, St Michael, has been missing since January. DeFreitas, an outpatient of the Psychiatric Hospital, was in the habit of leaving home for extended periods and was known to frequent Nelson Street and Reed Street, The City.

He is about five feet tall, has a brown complexion and is slim. He has an oval head, grey hair, beard and moustache, and drooping shoulders, and speaks with a soft voice.

DeFreitas was last seen wearing a white three-quarter pants with a polo horse to the front, a black T-shirt with Nike on it, navy blue Crocs and an orange peaked cap.

When contacted, the acting communications and public affairs officer of the Barbados Police Service Sergeant Liesl Gabriel said investigations were continuing in both cases.
