This season has been filled with so many goals. Over 20 games have scored 10 or more goals. The highest scoring game of the season thus far was the Bruins 10-2 win over the Rangers. The month of January alone featured 31 hat tricks! Could have been 32 but they took one away from Jared McCann after a high sticking penalty nullified the goal.
The next best thing in hockey is when they drop the gloves. Anytime you attend a hockey game you pray to the hockey gods you see lots of goals and at least one fight. Unless you ride with the goalies and you’re looking for a shutout. The ultimate jackpot is the rare goalie fight.
All hell broke loose down in Florida when the Sharks came to town looking for blood. I get excited every time these two franchises come together because they always seem to bring fireworks.
This was the first goalie fight since Cam Talbot and Mike Smith dropped the gloves during the battle of Alberta back in February of 2020. How ironic that Matthew Tkachuk played in both of these games. I can’t wait for him to erupt after the Olympics.
