Daniel Moody, the son of late WWE Hall of Famer Paul Bearer, has died at the age of 39, marking another heartbreaking loss connected to one of wrestling’s most recognizable families.
According to details shared through a GoFundMe page created on his behalf, Moody had been dealing with serious health issues dating back to November. The page explained that he went to the hospital for a procedure that led to a major medical emergency.
“Daniel went to the hospital in November for a procedure and suffered a major health crisis and is now in long-term care.”
The fundraiser was originally created to help cover mounting medical and insurance costs as his condition worsened. However, the situation later took a tragic turn, and the page was updated to reflect his passing.
The update explained that donations would now be redirected toward funeral expenses, as his loved ones prepare to lay him to rest. No official cause of death has been publicly confirmed.
Following the news, Steve Stasiak of the Book Pro Wrestlers agency shared an emotional message remembering Moody and the deep ties his family had to the wrestling world.
“For those who met him, worked with him, or simply followed along over the years, this one hits on a different level. There’s history there. There’s family there. And there’s a bond to the business that never really leaves.”
He continued by reflecting on how moments like this highlight just how close-knit the wrestling community truly is.
“Moments like this remind you how small the wrestling world really is… and how deep those roots go.”
According to reports, Moody was the last surviving member of his immediate family. His father, Paul Bearer — best known for his legendary work alongside The Undertaker in WWE — passed away in 2013 following a heart attack. His mother, Dianna, died in 2009, and his older brother, Michael, died in 2014.
Moody followed in his father’s footsteps in his own way, stepping into the ring as a wrestler under the name DJ Pringle. He competed for independent wrestling promotions throughout Alabama and remained connected to the business that defined his family’s legacy.
Daniel Moody’s passing adds another sad chapter to a family long associated with professional wrestling, leaving behind memories tied to both the industry and those who knew him personally.
