December 24, 2025 — A unique figure coming out of the cradle of field hockey
The recorded history of scholastic field hockey begins in a small hamlet along the Delaware River named Haddonfield, N.J. That’s where Bess Taylor, a young woman with considerable skill in persuasion, was able to get the game of field hockey added to the school in 1909.

But read this story on the University of Virginia website. It concerns the Wahoos’ male practice player, Charlie Webb.
